Back to the 2000 Press Releases
www.cheapflights.com, one of the UK's leading travel websites, has announced it received a record number of 515,000 visitors to its site in July (source: DoubleClick Inc). This is an increase of fifteen per cent from the previous month and resulted in cheapflights.com being ranked 6th in a league table of travel websites in Campaign (source: BRAD).
The site achieved 6.1 million page impressions for the month, an increase of 17 per cent on June 2000.
David Soskin, joint chief executive office & head of marketing and sales, www.cheapflights.com, said, "We are extremely pleased to see record numbers of viewers coming to our site. Simply put, we probably sell more flight tickets through our site than anyone else in the UK. We put the viewer first and they are voting for us with their clicks.
"These figures represent a 50 per cent increase on this time last year - a huge success for a site that remains a private company without access to the vast funds enjoyed by those who have gone public or are owned by mega-corporations."
The record figures come at the end of a month that has seen the company move to a new server, RedBus, to help it cope with its ever-increasing traffic. It has also witnessed a site redesign to expand its content and make navigation on the site more intuitive.
