Cheapflights.com Expands Specialist Operator Links

Back to the 2001 Press Releases

Continuing its aim to offer viewers the most comprehensive travel service on the web, cheapflights.com has added three new specialist operators to its site. Visitors can now research holidays from Sunvil Holidays and Melhart Travel (who specialize in Greece and Southern Africa respectively) and Destination Portugal. By simply clicking onto the 'Holidays' link on the cheapflights.com homepage viewers can access these, and many other, specialist operators.

Sunvil Holidays is one of the UK's leading independent specialists to Greece, featuring accommodation, fly-drives and sailing in some of Greece's more 'off the beaten track' resorts.

Destination Portugal specialises in creating deluxe accommodation packages, from villas to small hotels and pousadas, as well as golf offers to the Algarve.

Melhart Travel has more than 20 years experience in tailor-making holidays, including jeep and fly-in safaris, to Namibia and South Africa. Their competive flight prices are feaured on the cheapflights' Cape Town and Windhoek destination pages.

David Soskin, joint chief executive officer at cheapflights.com commented

"Unlike many travel websites, we offer our viewers have the widest possible choice. This means cheapflights.com combines a variety of specialist providers with more well-known operators and agents to ensure viewers find exactly what they want. Niche operators can often offer more localised knowledge as well as access to the best deals. For some of these operators, cheapflights.com is their only way of reaching a mass internet audience."

"We are thrilled that Sunvil, Melhart and Destination Portugal are now making cheapflights a part of their marketing mix"

cheapflights.com now works with more than 200 companies to provide viewers with the widest choice of travel on the web.

Editor's Notes: cheapflights.com, which was founded in 1996, is the most comprehensive online resource in the UK for researching cheap airfares. Its many destination pages also enable independent travellers to research and prepare every aspect of their trip.

In January 2001, cheapflights announced record traffic figures of 671,000 unique visitors and 6.5 million page impressions (source: Doubleclick Inc).
