David Soskin, chief executive officer, www.cheapflights.com, commented: "Not surprisingly Amsterdam, always a favourite on our flights page, has come out top. What is interesting is that New York is now firmly considered by our British and Irish travellers as a short break destination. Italy is the most popular country with Rome, Venice and Florence all turning in strong performances."
Editor's Notes: www.cheapflights.com Britain's largest independent travel portal, announced its highest ever viewing figures for the month of July last week.
