Back to the 2001 Press Releases
Cheapflights, the UK's leading travel website, has expanded its dedicated short breaks section following an increase in web traffic to the specialist section.
The seven new short break destinations to be featured on the site are Copenhagen, Helsinki, Las Vegas, Reykjavik, Stockholm, Toronto and Hong Kong.
Says David Soskin, joint CEO: "Our traffic figures to the site over July and August have shown a significant growth in interest for the dedicated Shortbreaks section, during a difficult time for the travel industry. The increase in the number of destinations featured will bring a welcome boost one of the most popular areas of Cheapflights site."
Editor's Notes: Britain's largest independent travel portal, announced its highest ever viewing figures for the month of July last week. A record 668,000 unique visitors used the travel site, a rise of 30 per cent compared to 2000 (source: Doubleclick Inc). July 2001 was the second month in which cheapflights.com achieved more than one million visits to the site.
The Short Breaks section offers trips of two to five days throughout Europe and to popular US destinations, including New York and Washington. A huge range of short breaks are available on the site, with providers ranging from British Airways Travel Shop, The Destination Group and specialist companies such as Destination Portugal.
