Cheapflights, the UK’s largest online travel price comparison service, has been ranked as one of the top 100 fastest-growing tech firms in the country according to a chart published by The Sunday Times1.
The company, which invented travel price search-and-compare functionality on the internet in 1996 and introduced pay per click (PPC) in 2000, was ranked in 79 th position, up 17 places from last year and was one of only two travel firms listed.
The achievement of this placing follows the announcement of a new record of over 4.1 million unique users having clicked through the site in July of this year.
Cheapflights’ users can search through over one million bargains from ABTA and ATOL bonded travel companies, airlines and accommodation providers. Users click through to their chosen supplier to book or can telephone on selected deals.
The circa million of flight, accommodation, package holiday, short break and business travel deals on Cheapflights’ sites are selected from over 16 million deals provided each day by their advertising clients.
Over 700 travel companies are available through Cheapflights’ UK sites, including Lastminute.com, Travelocity.co.uk, Thomson Holidays, First Choice Holidays, British Airways, Thomascook.com, Virgin Atlantic and Accor Hotels. Worldwide Cheapflights have over 900 travel advertising clients.
