Airline Overview

The regional airline for the southwest of the UK, Air Southwest flies from Plymouth, Bristol, Newquay and Cardiff to London, Manchester, Leeds, Jersey and Dublin. Complimentary cream teas, sadly, not available on the flights.

Check-in desks close 30 minutes before the departure of the flight, but a check-in time of one hour before departure is recommended.

Baggage

Hand luggage: One item of hand luggage is allowed, weighing less than 7kg, with dimensions not exceeding 53cm x 34cm x 22cm. Umbrellas, handbags and laptops are not included and may also be carried on board. Wheelchairs are carried free of charge.

Checked: Up to two items are allowed, with a maximum weight limit of 20kg (44lb) . The total dimensions must not exceed 158cm (62in).

Excess: Over-weight items are charged at £4 per kg , but the total weight cannot exceed 32kg (70lb). You can pre-book excess luggage online for £2 per kg by purchasing excess baggage vouchers.

Special items that need extra handling such as bikes, surfboards and so on, are charged an extra fee of £17.

All seats are pre-assigned at check-in. Air Southwest will take particular care to seat families and parties together.

Passenger Change Details

Flight routes can be changed for a fee of £20 plus the difference in price of the two tickets. If the second ticket price is lower, however, no refund is given. Changes can be made online up until the day before travel, or by telephone until two hours before travel. Changes made by phone will incur an extra £5 charge.

Child Fares

None, but there is no cost for infants younger than two travelling on an adult's lap. No baggage allowance is available for infants but strollers can be taken at no extra cost. Children under the age of 14 are not allowed to travel unaccompanied.

No pets are allowed with the exception of guide dogs for blind passengers.

Carrying Musical Instruments

Standard baggage allowances apply. A seat can be purchased to carry a large instrument instead of checking it.
