Check-in

Online check-in is available to members (and their travelling companions) of The Marco Polo Club and Asia Miles and to those who have booked online and have an e-ticket. Cathay Pacific passengers can check-in and select their seats from 48 hours up to 90 minutes before departure. For the vast majority of routes boarding passes can be printed at home. If this facility is not available customers must collect them at the Self Check-In Kiosk or Self Check-In Bag Drop Counter at their departure airport.

Baggage

Hand luggage: in all classes, Cathay Pacific passengers (except infants) are allowed one carry-on bag up to 56 x 36 x 23cm. The weight limit for economy is 7kg.

Checked: for travellers to and from the US, Canada, and some South American countries, Cathay Pacific permits two bags with a combined weight of under 23kg. The baggage allowance for all other routes is 20kg in Economy.

Excess: charges vary by departure airport and are only available by telephoning the applicable Cathay Pacific reservations office.

Passenger Change Details

Booking alterations cannot be handled online but must be requested via the reservations office. Depending on the type of fare purchased, re-booking may not be allowed or may incur a processing fee.

Child fares are available for under-12s. To book flights for infants, passengers should call their travel agent or Cathay Pacific Reservations.

Pets

Cathay Pacific does transport pets; however, travellers going to Hong Kong need to apply for an import permit for their pet, even for transit. Animals, other than service dogs, are not permitted in the passenger cabin. Pets such as dogs, cats, and birds will be crated and transported in the cargo compartment.

In-flight Service

Cathay Pacific Economy Class offers "a great selection of food and beverages including a variety of regional dishes as well as snacks (such as ice cream and noodles)"; long-haul business class flights offer a choice of four entrées; First Class serves haute cuisine-style five course lunch or dinner.
