Online check-in is available to members (and their travelling companions) of The Marco Polo Club and Asia Miles and to those who have booked online and have an e-ticket. Cathay Pacific passengers can check-in and select their seats from 48 hours up to 90 minutes before departure. Boarding passes can be picked up from the online check-in counter or via the CXpress check-in kiosk. Self check-in kiosks are located at Hong Kong, Seoul and San Francisco airports.

Hand luggage: in all classes, Cathay Pacific passengers (except infants) are allowed one carry-on bag up to 56 x 36 x 27cm. The weight limit for economy is 7kg.
Checked: for travellers to and from the US, Canada, and some South American countries, Cathay Pacific permits two bags no heavier than 32kg. The baggage allowance for all other routes is 20kg in Economy.
Excess: charges vary by departure airport and are only available by telephoning the applicable Cathay Pacific reservations office.

Cathay Pacific does transport pets; however, travellers going to Hong Kong need to apply for an import permit for their pet, even for transit. Animals, other than service dogs, are not permitted in the passenger cabin. Pets such as dogs, cats, and birds will be crated and transported in the cargo compartment.
