Based at New York's JFK airport, discount airline JetBlue first took flight in February 2000. Today, the airline offers flights to more than 50 destinations in the US and to the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.

For domestic flights, arrive 20 minutes before the flight departs if travelling only with carry on luggage; 25 minutes before departure if checking luggage in to the hold. Desks close 45 minutes before departure for all international flights. Online check-in is available if travelling only with hand luggage, 1.5 to 24 hours before departure.

Hand luggage: one bag and one personal item, such as a laptop or handbag, are allowed. Personal items must not exceed dimensions of 46 x 38 x 20cm, and bags must not exceed 61 x 41 x 25 cm.
Checked: up to three items are permitted on all flights, except those to Puerto Rico where a maximum of two checked items are allowed. Maximum weight allowance is 32kg per bag, and the maximum dimensions are 158 linear cm (length + width + height).
Excess: overweight items are charged $50 (£25) if overweight; $50 (£25) if oversized; and $100 (£50) if over both limits.
Can be booked online for no extra cost. A seating plan with legroom details is also available on jetblue.com so you can choose the perfect seat.
Changes can be made online for a fee of $20 (£10) per person plus any difference in price for the new flight, or at the call centre for a fee of $25 (£12.50) per person plus any difference in price. For travel to the same destination, the reservation can be changed to standby travel for any flight to the destination leaving on that day for no extra charge. If the original flight was the last out of the airport, standby travel for the first of the next day's flights is allowed and if there is only one flight per day, standby on a flight on the preceding or following day is permitted.
JetBlue's frequent flyer scheme, True Blue, is available for online enrollment. It offers the chance to earn free travel and access to special features on jetblue.com, such as managing credits from cancelled flights.
