Last check-in is 30 minutes before the flight departs on domestic routes, with the exceptions of Atlanta, Denver, Newark, Tampa and Washington D.C-Dulles, which require 45 minutes and Las Vegas, which requires 60 minutes. For international flights, check-in is 60 minutes before scheduled departure. Boarding passes may be obtained at nwa.com, a Northwest Airlines self-service check-in kiosk or any Northwest check-in position.

Hand luggage: one item allowed per person, not exceeding 114 linear cm (height + length + width) or 18 kg. Personal items, such as laptops, books, handbags etc are also allowed.

Checked: On domestic flights, two items are allowed, weighing not more than 23kg with maximum dimensions of 158 linear cm. On international flights, three pieces of luggage are allowed, each weighing no more than 32 kg with linear dimensions not more 158cm.
Excess: oversized items are charged at $80 (£40) each for up to 406 linear cm. Anything over 406cm will not be carried. Overweight luggage is charged at an extra $25 (£12) for up to 32 kg and $50 (£25) for 32kg to 45kg. Items over 45kg will not be carried.
Fee for extra luggage is $80 (£40) for the first excess piece; $105 (£55) for the next three; and $180 (£90) for anything more than a total of six, including the two free pieces.
Seats can be reserved a maximum of 90 days before the flight online or at the reservations number.
Names cannot be changed. Reservations can be changed online for all Northwest marketed flights. An administrative fee may apply.
