Airline Overview
First taking off in 2002, flyglobespan is a no-frills carrier owned by the established holiday company Globespan. The Scottish airline flies from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and destinations across to the UK to major European holiday resorts and to Canada, America and Africa. Destinations include Toronto, Vancouver, Alicante, Barcelona, Faro, Malaga, Ibiza, Tenerife and Orlando.
Desks close 40 minutes before departure on European flights, one hour before on all other flights. The airline recommends, however, that all passengers check in at least one hour before departure.

Hand luggage: one item that cannot be bigger than 55 x 45 x 20cm. There is no weight restriction (within the total 20kg allowance), but passengers must be able to store their bag in the overhead locker.
Checked: In March 2008, the airline started charging for bags to be checked in on all European flights and on flights from Europe to Egypt. The cost is £5 per bag each way if booked online or £10 per bag each way at the airport.
Excess: extra weight can be booked in advance online at the rate of £15 per 10kg. If paid for at the airport, the fee is £5 per kg.

The date of the flight can be changed up to seven days prior to the flight departure. Changes can only be made by calling the reservation line and cost £25 per person within Europe or £35 outside Europe plus any additional cost of the new flight.
Changes to the passenger name can be made up until 5pm two days before departure either online or by telephone. Charges are £20 within Europe, £35 outside Europe if made online. If changed at the call centre, charges are £25 within Europe, £40 outside Europe.

Standard baggage allowances apply. A separate seat may be purchased to carry a large or fragile instrument instead of checking it.
