Addis Ababa Bole International Airport (ADD) The airport is located 8km (5 miles) from Addis Ababa. 

To/from the airport: Buses and taxis are available. 

Facilities: ATM, first aid facilities and a travel agency.

Cairo International (CAI)www.cairo-airport.com is 22km (14 miles) northeast of the city at Heliopolis.

To/from the airport: There are bus services every 30 minutes, and taxis are available. Special limousines are offered by local and international operators. Hotel cars may also be available.

Facilities: Incoming and outgoing duty-free shops selling a wide range of goods, car hire, post office, bank/bureau de change, restaurants and bar, hotel reservation service, souvenir shops, bookshop and travel insurance services.

Cape Town (CPT):www.airports.co.za is 20km (13 miles) east of the city.

To/from the airport: Taxis and shuttle buses are transport options. Some hotels provide courtesy buses.

Facilities: Duty-free shop, car hire, bank/bureau de change, ATMs, post office, tourist information desk and restaurants/bars.

Tunis Carthage International Airport (TUN):www.oaca.nat.tn The airport is located 7km (4.5 miles) from Tunis. 

To / from the airport: Buses and metered taxis are the modes of transport. 

Facilities: ATMs, currency exchange, post office, lost-and-found desk, VIP lounges, medical facilities, pharmacy, beauty salon, Wi-Fi.

Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere International Airport (DAR) (Dar es Salaam International) www.tanzaniairports.com is located 13km (8 miles) southwest of Dar es Salaam.

To/from the airport: Taxis, usually unmetered, are available and take between 20 minutes and an hour to reach the city centre depending on traffic. Many hotels provide transport on request. A shuttle bus service meets all flights and can take travellers to the city centre. Local car hire companies operate at the airport.

Abidjan International Airport (ABJ):www.aeria.ci The airport is located 16km (10 miles) southeast of Abidjan. 

To/from the airport: The orange-coloured taxis with set fares are the best bet into Abidjan. Regular buses travel to the city centre.

Hurghada International Airport (HRG) The airport is located 5km (3 miles) inland from Hurghada. 

To/from the airport: Buses and taxis are the transport options. 

Facilities: Bank, ATMs, currency exchange services, post office, mosque, children play area, Internet workstations.

Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (NBO):www.kenyaairports.co.ke The airport is located 18km (11 miles) east of Nairobi. 

To/from the airport: Taxis and buses are available.
