Al Ain

Al Ain International Airport (AAN):www.dcaauh.gov.ae is 13km (8 miles) northwest of Al Ain.

To / from the airport: Bus: Public buses to Al Ain serve the airport. Taxi: Al Ghazal Taxis operates a fixed-rate service to the centre of Al Ain.

Antalya

Antalya Havalimani Airport (AYT):www.aytport.com is 17km (10 miles) from Antalya, the main city on Turkey’s Mediterranean coast.

To / from the airport: Shuttle: Hotels and tour operators often provide a courtesy shuttle service for their customers. Private airport transfers are available for a door-to-door service. Taxis serve the airport and leave from in front of the main terminal building; passengers are advised to haggle a fare before setting off.

Facilities: banks and bureau de change, postal service, telephones, bars, cafés, fast-food restaurants, duty-free shops, lost luggage, medical service, baby rooms and a resting lounge for business people and VIPs.

Ataturk/Yesilkov Intl

Atatürk International Airport (IST):www.ataturkairport.com is located 24km (15 miles) west of Istanbul.

To / from the airport: Havas runs a regular bus service between the airport and the city centre. Taxis are available.

Bangkok Intl

Suvarnabhumi International Airport (BKK): www2.airportthai.co.th The airport is located 30km (18.5 miles) east of Bangkok.

To/from the airport: Work on a city airport terminal in Makkasan and a 28.5km high-speed rail link to the new airport started in July 2005 and is due for completion by late 2008. When operational, the high-speed link is expected to take travellers from city to airport in 15 minutes. Public taxis can be found on Level 2 (Arrivals). Public bus service is provided from the bus terminal at the airport’s Transport Center (which can be reached by taking a free airport shuttle bus).

Facilities: Bureau de change, ATMs, public telephones, restaurants, food outlets and bars, shops, luggage trolleys, traditional Thai massage and spa, airline lounges.

Beijing Capital Intl

Beijing Capital International (PEK/BJS): en.bcia.com.cn is located 28km (18 miles) northeast of the city.

To/from the airport: Buses and taxis area available. An Airport Express subway line from the airport to central Beijing will open in 2008.

Facilities: Duty-free shop, bank, bar, snack bar, bureau de change, post office and car hire.

Ben Gurion

Ben-Gurion International Airport (TLV): www.iaa.gov.il is located 20km (12 miles) southeast of Tel Aviv and 50km (31 miles) west of Jerusalem.

To/from the airport: There are bus services from the airport to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Be'er Sheva and other smaller towns. The airport has a train station located on level five with services into Tel Aviv. There is also a taxi service. A shared sherut (taxi service) is available, charging a fixed rate per passenger. The El Al airline bus goes to the airport terminal in Tel Aviv. Departure depends on El Al flights.

Facilities: Banks, restaurants, duty-free shops, general shops, tourist information, car hire desks and VIP lounge.

Changi Intl

Singapore Changi Airport (SIN):www.changi.airport.com.sg is 20km (13 miles) east of the city.

To/from the airport: Public transport and taxis are readily available to the city centre. The Mass Rapid Transit train system operates from the airport to the city centre and trains depart frequently. The Maxicab, a six-seater taxi shuttle, operates throughout the day; tickets must be bought in advance from the shuttle service counter in the arrivals hall.

Facilities: Fitness centre, swimming pool, supermarket, medical clinics and full banking services (including money changing) to business centres and transit hotels with private bathrooms (advance booking is recommended for the hotels). There are left luggage facilities, post offices, bars and restaurants, extensive duty-free shops and car hire operators.

Chhatrapati Shivaji Intl

Mumbai (BOM) (Chhatrapati Shivaji International):www.csia.in is 26-30km (16-19 miles) north of the city

To/from the airport: Taxi and bus services go to the city. There is also a railway system connecting with the Metro rail system.
