To/from the airport: An Aeroexpress train goes from Moscow's Paveletsky Station to the airport (journey time - 40 to 50 minutes). Express buses and a 24-hour shuttle service are also available. Two official taxi firms operate at the airport.

Hong Kong International Airport (HKG):www.hongkongairport.com is located on Lantau Island, 34km (21 miles) from central Hong Kong.

To/from the airport: Airport Express Line (AEL), bus, taxis. High-speed ferries run between Tung Chung's new development pier at Chek Lap Kok and Tuen Mun, with a shuttle bus from the pier to the airport.

Facilities: Tourist information desks and computer kiosks, bank, bureau de change and ATMs, bars/restaurants, post office, shops, duty-free and medical centre.

Hongqiao International Airport (SHA):www.shanghaiairport.com is 13km (8 miles) southwest of the city.

Incheon International Airport (ICN):www.airport.or.kr is 52km (32 miles) west of Seoul on Yongion.

To/from the airport: Limousine buses, taxis and coaches operate regular routes between the main urban areas. A ferry service operates a daily service between the airport ferry pier and Wolmido/Yuldo on the coast of Incheon city.

Irkutsk Airport (IKT):iktport.ru (Russian only). The airport is situated 8km (5 miles) from the city centre. Irkutsk is in south eastern Siberia, 60km (37 miles) east of Lake Baikal in the Russian Federation.

To/from the airport: Buses and shuttles between the airport and the city centre are frequent and cheap. The journey takes about half an hour. Taxis are also available.

Facilities: Post office, bank, bureau de change, telephones, Internet cafe, restaurants, cafes, bars, shops including newsagents and duty-free, first aid and a baby and parent room. Left-luggage is available.

(Osaka) Kansai International Airport (KIX):www.kansai-airport.or.jp is 50km (31 miles) southwest of Osaka.

To/from the airport: There is a bus to the city. The Nankai RR service goes to Namba station. The JR West service goes to JR Osaka station. Taxis are available to the city. It is also possible to take the jetfoil from Kansai Airport to Kobe's Port Island.

Gimhae International (PUS):gimhae.airport.co.kr The airport is situated 22km (13 miles) west of Busan.

To/from the airport: The Busan subway system line 2 connects the city centre with Deokchon station, from where bus 307 connects with the airport at 10 minute intervals. There are frequent public buses serving various destinations around Busan. Airport Bus limousine buses run to the Haeundae and Busan Stations via major hotels. There are also frequent public buses from the airport. Deluxe and ordinary taxis are readily available from ranks outside the terminals.
