Airport Overview

Page sections

Coventry Airport was opened in 1936, used as an RAF station during the Second World War, and was returned to civilian use after the war. In 2004, TUI AG took over the lease and started offering Thomsonfly flights. The operations are controversial as the terminal buildings were erected without planning permission. In 2007 its application to build permanent terminal and passenger facilities were turned down by the UK government. Wizz Air also flies from CVT.
