Seoul Incheon International Airport, also known as the Winged City, is built on reclaimed land located between two islands near to Incheon Port. The airport is the largest in Asia and is well-located for Japan and China as well as Korea. It opened in 2001 and replaced Kimpo as Korea’s main international airport.

Water: A ferry service runs from Incheon to Yeongjong-do. Rail: A high-speed railway connection between Gimpo International Airport and Incheon International Airport should be complete by 2005. The station will be located in the Transportation Centre.
Road: Taxi: Regular, deluxe and jumbo taxis (for up to nine people) can be hired at the airport (journey time to central Seoul: 50 minutes). Bus: Passengers can choose between limousine buses or regular inter-city buses. The inter-city buses stop at the major districts and hotels around Seoul. Long- and short-term parking facilities are available at the airport. An airport shuttle bus runs from the long-term car park to the passenger terminal.
Information counters are situated on the first and third floor, in the boarding gate area and in the Transportation Centre. For more detailed information, including magazines and brochures, travellers can contact the External Affairs Office (tel: +82 (0)32 741 2112).
Money and communications: There are bureaux de change, banks and a post office at the airport. Mobile phone hire and Internet access are available.Eating and drinking: There is a vast selection of restaurants, snack bars, cafés, bars, ice cream parlours and fast-food outlets at the airport.Shopping: Four companies operate 42 duty-free shops at the airport. There is a supermarket in the basement area.Luggage: There are luggage storage facilities and a lost property office; the airport’s website lists all items found at the airport.Other facilities: There is a medical centre, chemists, laundry, children’s playrooms, massage and a prayer room.

The Hyatt Regency Incheon (tel: +82 (0)32 745 1234; website: www.hyattregencyincheon.com) is a short journey from the airport, and the hotel offers a courtesy shuttle. Hotel New Airport Incheon Airport (tel: +82 (0)19 824 6748; www.incheon-hotel.com) provides a 24-hour free English speaking helpline and pick-up service. Hotel Queen (tel: +82 (0)32 747 0070; website: www.hotelqueen.com) provides a free pick up service. Other nearby hotels include the Sky Hotel, the Hotel Hubhub and the Hotel Sevilla. There is a hotel information desk at the passenger terminal building (tel: +82 (0)32 743 2570).
The airport has lifts and plenty of wheelchair-accessible toilets. Car parking spaces reserved for disabled drivers are available. Wheelchairs are provided free of charge; passengers requiring assistance should inform their airline prior to travel. The help phones located around the airport can be used to request assistance.
The airport has two business centres: Diners Club International (tel: +82 (0)32 743 6100) and the Paradise Business Centre (tel: +82 (0)32 743 3660). Both have conference rooms equipped with videoconferencing systems.
