Capital Region International Airport is in Lansing, Michigan. It bills itself as a cheaper alternative to Detroit. Airlines at the airport include Air Azul, Northwest Airlines and United Airlines, which fly to cities such as Minneapolis/St Paul, New York, Orlando and Tampa. In 2008, up to one million passengers travelled through the airport.

Getting into Town

Road: Taxi: Taxis are located just outside the terminal building. Bus: Capital Area Transit Authority +1 (CATA) operates a fixed route bus service to the airport seven days a week with Routes 14 and 12A. Car Parking

The short-term parking is located directly opposite the terminal building and has a 15 minute grace period. The long-term parking lot is located just behind it. Parking facilities are operated and managed by APCOA/Standard (tel: +1 517 321 2665). The airport has an EZ-Go Cart available to transport passengers from the parking lot to the terminal building. To use this service, passengers should drive under the canopy and find a Skycap for assistance.

Airport Facilities

Money and communications: National City Bank has an ATM located on the first floor of the terminal building near the main entrance.
Eating and drinking: There is a casual full service restaurant, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and a pub, located near the boarding gates, with a full-service cocktail lounge and a branded mini food court.
Shopping: There is a gift shop and news-stand concession featuring merchandise geared to the needs of air travellers. Also available are products, crafts, and gifts reflecting the unique character of Mid-Michigan.

Other facilities: Skycap services are available at kerbside to assist passengers transport their luggage and belongings to the airline ticket counters for check-in. Skycaps are also available in the baggage claim area at flight arrival times.

Airport Disabled Facilities

The airport is fully accessible to disabled and elderly travellers. Special ramps for wheelchairs are located at both short-term parking lots flanking the airport terminal as well as long-term parking lots. Convenient parking spaces are reserved for disabled travellers in all parking lots. Ramps are provided at kerbside by the terminal. Lifts are conveniently located in the passenger terminal. All lifts are identified with the standard graphics used to designate facilities for disabled people, and they are equipped with raised markings on the control buttons. Wheelchairs can be obtained upon arrival at the passenger terminal by contacting any Skycap.

Airport Conference and Business Facilities

The airport's complimentary business centre offers free Wi-Fi internet, Ethernet cable, dial-up service, teleconferencing and a comfortable, quiet environment with couches and restrooms. The centre is located through security screening near gate 6.
