The larger of Rome’s two airports, Leonardo da Vinci is known as Fiumicino. Most traditional carriers fly here - it is Alitalia's hub - while the no-frillers use Ciampino. Situated further from town than Ciampino, the train system allows far easier access to the centre of town. It served around 33 million passengers in 2007. More than 80 airlines fly here.
