Opened in 1937, Nashville International Airport in Tennessee served almost ten million passengers in 2007. The four-runway airport is served by 16 airlines operating about 400 daily flights to almost 100 destinations. Southwest, the world's third-largest airline, has a big operation at Nashville.

Road: Taxi: Taxis leave from just outside the passenger terminal. Bus: Buses, limousines and hotel/motel shuttles can be found on the ground transportation level, outside the terminal. The Downtown Airport Express Shuttle plies a route between the airport and downtown Nashville, with pick-up outside the baggage reclaim area. Bus route information is available at the customer service booth.

Eating and drinking: There are speciality restaurants, snack bars, cafés, coffee shops, an ice cream bar, fine dining room and grill room.
Shopping: There are gift shops, a PGA tour shop and newsagents.
Luggage: Trolleys are available 24 hours from locations throughout the terminal, for a fee.
Other facilities: There is a children’s play area and a meditation room.

The airport is physically accessible to disabled passengers, with lifts connecting all floors. Travellers should notify their airline in advance if they require assistance to/from the aircraft. TDD phones are available throughout the airport. Disabled parking spaces area available on the front rows of each section of lots in the short-term car par; courtesy shuttles from the long-term and economy car parks are equipped with wheelchair lifts.
