Airport Overview

Norwich International Airport is 5.3km (3.2 miles) north of the centre of historic Norwich, the regional capital, and the most complete medieval city in England.

A comparatively small and compact university town, Norwich retains much of its medieval charm and its city centre is easily navigable on foot via a network of footpaths. The area is also famous for the network of beautiful, scenic rivers and some of the country's best gardens and parks.

Flights to Norwich International Airport arrive from several UK destinations such as Manchester, Exeter, Aberdeen and Edinburgh, and go to and from popular European hubs and holiday destinations such as Corfu, Amsterdam, Palma de Mallorca, Mahon, Dalaman, Ibiza, Alicante and Tenerife. The airport is small with minimal facilities, but as long as you're just passing through, you’ll have few complaints.

Getting into Town

Train: There is no station at the airport and only one large station in Norwich. There are two main routes – south to London (about two hours away) and west toward Peterborough. The station is a ten-minute walk from the city centre, which you can get to via bus or taxi from the airport. A taxi ride from the airport to the train station should take about 20 minutes.

Bus: The First Eastern Counties Bus No. 27 runs every 15 minutes from Hellesdon, within walking distance of the terminal, to the city centre and costs about £1.70. You can buy tickets from the driver and change should be available. There's also a park-and-ride bus that goes from the designated area (a two-minute walk from the terminal) to the city centre every ten minutes from Monday at Saturday.

Taxi: Taxis leave from just outside the terminal building. It'll cost about £7 to get to the city centre.
