Airport Overview

Page sections

At just 3.7km (2.3 miles) east of downtown Ontario, Ontario International Airport  is a small but well-equipped alternative to Los Angeles Airport and John Wayne Airport for passengers flying to California.

The number of flights to Ontario International Airport has been declining steadily in recent years (there were 4.8 million passengers in 2010, but the terminals are built to handle twice that) - some say due to the lack of direct flights to major destinations, in comparison with other airports nearby. However, those who use the airport agree that it is a convenient alternative, well connected to nearby air fields and towns, easy to get in and out of, clean and with good basic facilities.

Terminal Transfer

<div class="rxbodyfield">The three terminals (Terminal 2, Terminal 4 and the International Terminal) are in separate buildings alongside each other. The International Terminal handles AeroMexico arrivals, while the other two handle all domestic arrivals and departures. There&#39;s a free shuttle service that runs between the terminals, economy car park Lot 5 and the car rental centre every five to 20 minutes depending on the time of day and how busy the airport is.</div>

Car Parking

There's a free cell phone waiting area at 1940 E. Moore Way. Otherwise you can park in the Daily Lots 2 and 4, located just outside Terminal 2 and Terminal 4 respectively. They both cost $3 for the first hour and $2 for every additional hour, up to a daily maximum of $18 and $18 for each additional day. If you'll be leaving your car for more than a few hours, a cheaper option is the long-term Lot 5, which is further away (between Terminal 4 and the car-rental centre) and costs just $9 a day, with a free shuttle to take you to the terminal buildings.
