Palm Springs International Airport is 3km (2 miles) from downtown Palm Springs. This outdoor airport has an open terminal with grass and gardens. The airport serves roughly 1.5 million passengers each year and is connected directly and indirectly to more than 500 destinations across the United States and around the world.
The airport has a fair selection of shopping opportunities and food and drink facilities. It is also relatively well connected with Palm Springs and the surrounding areas. There are loads of taxis serving the airport and a number of buses. There is also an Amtrak Station nearby in Palm Springs.
Passengers keen to visit Palm Springs can book flights to Palm Springs International Airport on a number of airlines including American Airlines, Continental and Delta. Non-stop flights to Palm Springs International Airport can be booked from Washington, Chicago, Denver, LA and Las Vegas as well as many other cities across North America.
With its open plan terminal and great location close to downtown Palm Springs, this airport is a great choice for people wanting to visit the region for a holiday in the sun or for business. The sunny weather in Palm Springs does have its disadvantages though as flights to Palm Springs are generally less frequent during the hot and dry summer months.

Train: The closest train station is the Amtrak station in Palm Springs. There is a bus stop at the airport for shuttles going to the Amtrak station.
Bus: The Morongo Basin Transit Authority (MBTA) runs buses to and from Palm Springs International Airport. Bus 12 runs throughout the week and bus 15 runs on weekends. Bus tickets start at $5 and range up to $10, but on weekends all tickets are $10 more expensive than the weekday tickets. During the week the bus bound for Palm Springs stops at the airport at 7.50am, 9.50am and 4.50pm, while the bus bound for Yucca Valley stops at the airport at 9.50am, 10.10am and 4.50pm. On Saturdays there are only two buses either way at 11.45am and 5.45pm or 12pm and 6pm, and on Sundays there is only one bus either way at 5.45pm and 6pm respectively. The MBTA’s website provides great route maps. The Coachella Valley SunBus, run by the Sunline Transit Agency, is a much cheaper option, as tickets are only $1 and buses run throughout Palm Springs from 5.12am to 11.02pm during the week and 5.15am to 10.40pm on weekends. Buses timetables vary depending on the specific route chosen; routes servicing the airport include routes 14, 24 and 31.
Taxis: The three main taxi companies offering services at Palm Springs International Airport are Airport Taxi, American Cab and Yellow Cab of the Desert. The taxi rank is just outside the arrivals section of the terminal and taxi fares into town generally cost between $12 and $15. There are also a number of shuttle buses available at the airport, head to the information desk in the baggage claim area for more information. Some companies charge an extra $2.50 to $3 for airport pickups.
Money and communications: The airport has three ATMs and foreign exchange facilities are available at Anderson Travel in the main terminal. Public telephones are also located in the terminal.
Luggage: Skycap services are available as are luggage trolleys. For lost and found contact an Airport Navigator or go to the information booth in the baggage claim area.
Conference and business: The airport does not have conference or business facilities. However, the Hilton Palm Springs (tel: (760) 320 6868) is just a mile from the airport. It offers a business centre, printing, fax and photocopying facilities as well as meeting rooms equipped with audiovisual facilities.
Other facilities: A travel agency, outdoor children’s play area and a USO Service Club are all available at Palm Springs International Airport. The airport is fully accessible to passengers with special needs.
Wi-Fi: Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the terminal. To access the Wi-Fi simply connect to the PSPAIRPORT service provider and launch your Internet browser and follow the instructions.
