Port Elizabeth Airport is known as the "ten minute airport" because it is no more than a ten-minute drive to the city’s most important areas including the central business district and Algoa Bay. The airport is run by Airports Company South Africa and handles more than one million passengers per year.

Road: Taxi: Metered taxis are available outside the Departures hall. Bus: Shuttle services are available on request or by booking in advance at the Arrivals hall. These operate according to flight schedules and passengers can also book their return journey to the airport in advance.

Open and shaded short-term car parking (up to 8 hours), open and shaded long-term parking, covered parking and lock-up garages are all available (tel: +27 (0)41 581 0588). These are located directly in front of the terminal building.

Money and communications: There is an ATM in the passage between the Arrivals and Departures halls and the information desk operates a bureau de change facility. There is also a post box in the Departures hall. Telephones are available in the Arrivals and Departures halls and in the sterile area.
Eating and drinking: There is a restaurant on the first floor of the Departures hall and cafés in the Arrivals and Departures halls.
Shopping: There is a gift shop and a sweet shop in the Departures hall.
Luggage: Trolley are available in the Arrivals hall (next to the baggage belts), in the car park area, and at the entrance to the Departures hall.
Other facilities: Baby changing facilities are available in the ladies toilets in the Arrivals and Departures halls.

There are no hotels at the airport. There are hotels located near the airport, some situated along the beachfront, as well as several guesthouses. These include the City Lodge Port Elizabeth (tel: +27 (0)41 586 3322), Courtyard Hotel Port Elizabeth (tel: +27 (0)41 583 4655), Holiday Inn Gardens Court (tel: +27 (0)41 582 3720) and the Paxton Hotel (tel: +27 (0)41 585 9655). Some hotels offer a shuttle service to/from the airport; these leave from in front of the Departures hall.

There is a conference room in the Aero Park Block B (tel: +27 (0)41 507 7418), situated 200m (250 yards) from the Arrivals hall, which can seat 25-30 people. Equipment, including television, video, overhead projector and white boards is available.
