Southwest Florida International Airport is the gateway to Fort Myers and Florida’s Gulf Coast. It served eight million passengers in 2007. RSW, which ranks among the 50 busiest airports in the US, houses 22 airlines, providing nonstop service to 36 domestic destinations and three international.

Road: Taxi: Taxis are available from the airport and can be booked in advance or upon arrival at the ground transportation booth, which is situated between the terminal and the short-term car park. Limousines are also available on demand at the airport, with bookings at the ground transportation booth. Bus: Lee Tran (website: www.rideleetran.com) provides public transport 0600-2200; a bus service is provided on an hourly basis to a transfer point at Daniels Parkway, where connections can be made to the remainder of the Lee Tran routes. Many hotels in the area offer a shuttle bus service to/from the airport.

Short-term parking is available directly across from the terminal. Long-term parking is off site. Shuttles provide transportation to this lot.

Money and communications: There is a bureau de change on the second level and several ATMs on both the first and second levels of the terminal building. Pay phones are situated throughout the terminal. A postal service is also available at the airport.
Eating and drinking: There are several fast-food outlets and a restaurant on the second level of the terminal building.
Shopping: There are several gift and regional speciality shops selling items for children, golfers and travellers.

Other facilities: Newspaper vending machines are available.

There are no hotels on site. The closest hotel to the airport is the Wynstar Inn and Suites (tel: +1 239 791 5000; e-mail: info@wynstarinn.com; website: www.wynstarinn.com). The Best Western Airport Inn (tel: +1 239 561 7000), Comfort Suites Airport (tel: +1 941 768 0005) and Hampton Inn Fort Myers (tel: +1 941 768 2525) hotels are all located close to the airport at the I-75/Daniels Parkway interchange. Many hotels in the area offer a shuttle bus service to/from the airport.
