Julius Nyerere International Airport (DAR) (Dar es Salaam International) www.tanzaniairports.com is located 12km (8 miles) southwest of Dar es Salaam.

To/from the airport: Taxis, usually unmetered, are available and take between 20 minutes and an hour to reach the city centre depending on traffic. Many hotels provide transport on request. A shuttle bus service meets all flights and can take travellers to the city centre for TZS 150. Local car hire companies operate at the airport.
