V.C. Bird International Airport on the Caribbean island of Antigua was originally built as a military airbase during the Second World War. Now a civilian airport, V. C. Bird currently serves around 15 airlines, including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic, American Airlines and Continental Airlines. A new passenger terminal is currently under consideration.

There is no public transport to/from the airport.
Air: Helicopters run services to Monserrat between 8.30am-4.30pm, with most departures on Sunday and Friday (no service on Wednesday and Saturday); contact Carib Aviation (tel: +1 268 462 3147) for more information. Subsidiary companies of LIAT (tel: +1 268 480 5600) run flights within the Leeward Islands, with desks in Arrivals.
Road: Taxi: Taxis are available for hire on a fixed-fare basis to St John’s (journey time: 10-15 minutes) and local hotels.
