Newark Liberty International is operated by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey along with the region’s other major airports – JFK, LaGuardia, Teterboro and the Downtown Manhattan Heliport. Newark is the fifth-busiest international gateway to the US. Approximately 36 million travellers passed through the airport in 2007.

Rail: Newark Liberty International Airport station is connected to the terminals via the free AirTrain Newark service. From here, Amtrak and New Jersey Transit trains run to Penn Station for connections to PATH subway trains, which serve downtown Manhattan and 33rd Street with other stops on the way.
Road: Taxi: Taxis are readily available; passengers should use authorised taxis only and establish a fare before departure. Bus: Olympia Airport Express offers bus services to Port Authority Bus Terminal, Grand Central Station and Penn Station. Other services run to destinations in Queens, Brooklyn, the Bronx, Staten Island and the suburbs. A number of companies also offer shuttle services to the city. Ground transportation information is available in Arrivals areas of all terminals.

Three short-term car parks (Lots A, B and C) are situated in front of each terminal. Daily parking is available in car parks P1, P3 and the multi-storey P4 (P2 and part of P3 are reserved for hire cars), which are connected to the terminals by AirTrain Newark. Free shuttle buses transport passengers to/from the economy parking lot, P6. Valet parking is available.

Money and communications: ATMs and bureau de change are located in all terminals. A bank is situated in Terminal C.
Eating and drinking: Bars and restaurants are available in all terminals.
Shopping: Duty-free, newsagents and gift shops are available in all terminals.
Luggage: Trolleys are available in the baggage reclaim areas of all terminals. A lost property service is available (tel: +1 973 961 6230).
Other facilities: There is a medical centre, baby-change facilities and a prayer room.

The Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott (tel: +1 973 623 0006) is located at the airport. Nearby hotels include the Courtyard Newark Liberty International Airport, Fairfield Inn & Suites Newark, Hilton Newark Airport, Holiday Inn Newark International, Residence Inn Newark and Spring Hill Suites Liberty International. Hotel courtesy telephones are located in each terminal, on the baggage reclaim level. Hotel shuttles run from the P4 parking garage, which is connected to the terminals via the 24-hour AirTrain Newark service.

There are TDD telephones, ramps, lifts and disabled toilets throughout the terminals. Electric carts are available on request from Skycap porters and vans can be booked to transport disabled passengers between terminals (tel: +1 973 961 6154). A comprehensive range of business services, including fax, computer, photocopying and courier facilities, are available at all terminals. Wireless internet access is available in Terminal C. Conference facilities are only offered via airline and club lounges, although the on-site Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott (tel: +1 973 623 0006) offers business facilities, including a fully equipped business centre, PCs and printers, secretarial services and 19 meeting rooms.
