Oslo Airport, Scandinavia's second-largest airport, opened in 1998 and lies north of the city. It is an intermodal hub providing transfers to connecting flights, trains, and coaches. There are 40 scheduled and charter airlines operating from the airport. In 2007, 19 million passengers passed through it.

Rail: There is an Airport Express Train (Flytoget) service, which runs between the airport and Oslo (journey time: 20 minutes), stopping at Oslo Central and various subway stations. All inter-city and express trains on the Skien-Oslo-Lillehammer-Trondheim route also stop at Oslo Airport Gardermoen station.
Road: Taxi: Taxis are readily available from the terminal; wheelchair-accessible taxis can be arranged through Airport Taxis (tel: 0047 23 232 323). There is a taxi information desk in the Arrivals hall and the taxi rank is located outside Arrivals. Bus: The SAS Airport Bus runs between Oslo Airport Gardermoen and Oslo Central Station toward the Radisson Scandinavia Hotel (journey time: 40 minutes). There is also a night service to Oslo bus terminal. For regional bus routes, there is a bus station just south of the railway station, which is within walking distance. Coach: The airport coach NOR-WAY Bussekspress runs to/from Oslo, Bærum, Fredrikstad and Ski and Gjovik.

There is a multi-storey car park with 4,000 spaces and direct access to the terminal and an outdoor car park (P0) immediately adjacent. There is also an outdoor ground level car park, divided into five areas (P1, P2, P3, P4 and P5), with free shuttle buses running regularly to/from the terminal building.

Money and communications: Nordea bank has ATMs and bureaux de change in both the Arrivals and Departures halls (before and after security). Wireless internet is available in all public areas of the terminal. Fax/photocopying is available at the information desk in the Arrivals hall.
Eating and drinking: Various restaurants, cafés, snack bars, fast-food outlets and bars are located throughout the airport.
Shopping: Duty-free shopping is available in the International Departures hall; various other shops are located throughout the airport.
Luggage: There is a left-luggage and lost property office, located opposite the railway station. A porter service is available (tel: +47 64 810 444).
Other facilities: There is a travel agency in the Departures hall (before security).

The 350-room Radisson SAS Airport Hotel Oslo (tel: +47 63 933 000) is within walking distance of the terminal building. Nearby hotels include the Quality Hotel Gardermoen Airport (tel: +47 63 926 100) and the Clarion Hotel Oslo Airport (tel: 0047 63 949 494); both hotels are a short drive away and are served by shuttle buses, which depart at least twice an hour from the airport (a fee is payable). Hotel reservations can be made at the information desk in Arrivals.
