Berlin Tegel is one of three airports currently operating in Berlin. Tegel is scheduled to close down in 2011 when all traffic will move to Berlin-Schoenefeld (which will be renamed Berlin-Brandenburg International). Until then, the distinctive hexagonal building will remain the main airport for scheduled flights from more than 50 airlines to destinations worldwide.
