Drop off was easy. We booked a “suppliers choice” size car. When we arrived we were told because our plane was late (4 instead of noon), we would have to be upgraded to a full-sized sedan for $30 a day more or $150. The price of the rental car was already ridiculously high (twice as much for this 5-day rental as we are paying for a 10-day rental elsewhere a month later!) it left us feeling cheated. Also car had a “service needed” light on but the attendant told us we should just ignore it.

I arrived Saturday around noon and there was only one person in line in front of me. I had a very friendly person at the counter. He did tell me they do not accept the 3rd party insurance I had purchased through Allianz but they took the name of my regular car insurance to use instead. This was fine for me but could be a problem for someone who doesn’t have car insurance back home. When I went to get my car instead of being a small Chevy spark hatchback I had reserved it was a ginormous SUV. I went back to the desk and they weren’t able to give me a small economy but they gave me a brand new 2022 Toyota RAV4 hybrid. I was in Alaska for the weekend but had rented a compact since it was what I could afford. It was great to have the RAV4. Upon return check out took about 1 minute and was easy. Overall, I had a decent experience and lucked out on the economy cars being overbooked :)
