Position: Data Management Developer

Location: Central London

Aim: To assist in achieving the current and future data acquisition requirements of the Cheapflights family of sites. To support existing data acquisition applications. To create new data acquisition applications. To assist in the conversion of existing data acquisition applications to .Net systems.

Responsible to: Head of European Operations (Siân Jewsbury)

Responsible for: (personnel) NA

Key areas of responsibility:

• Development of new data acquisition applications.
• Maintenance of existing data acquisition applications.
• Telephone and electronic 2^nd line support of new and existing Cheapflights Ltd advertisers
• Telephone and electronic 2^nd line support of Cheapflights Ltd Sales and Marketing teams
• The production and support of data transformation code using XML, T-SQL, C#  and other relevant technologies.
• Advising Cheapflights Ltd Advertisers on acceptable file formats / suitable content.
• Trouble-shooting existing Cheapflights Ltd data-feeds

Support tasks:

• Support current data acquisition applications.
• Internal and External 2^nd Line Support.

Preferred background:                                            essential / desirable

• You will have worked extensively with T-SQL, with specific expertise in DTS and complex stored-procedures. (essential)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (essential)
• Ability to converse successfully with both business and technical colleagues / customers (essential)
• Experience of working within Visual Studio.Net to produce C# applications
• Familiarity with C# regular expressions.

• Ability to rapidly learn and apply new technologies (essential)
• Excellent communication skills (essential)

Qualifications:

• Microsoft or other relevant certification  in either SQL databases or C# development (desirable)

Experience/skills:                                           essential / desirable

• Expert in SQL Server DTS Packages
• Expert in SQL Server Transact-SQL
• Good knowledge of database design concepts
• Good knowledge of C#
