Two impressive bronze lions on Michigan Avenue guard the doors to one of the world’s greatest art collections. The Art Institute of Chicago displays an impressive array of art, including Japanese ukiyo-e prints and ancient Egyptian bronzes, with paintings, drawings, photographs, textiles and sculptures dating from 3,000 BC to the present. The Impressionist collection is particularly good, featuring several Monet paintings.
