More useful links for Edinburgh
This famous Scottish castle was cobbled together over centuries. St. Margaret’s Chapel, the oldest section of Edinburgh Castle, dates back to the 12th century. The Great Hall was built around 1511 and the Half Moon Battery followed later that century. The Scottish National War Memorial was added after World War I in 1927. There are plenty of sights to see inside the structure as well, including the Crown Jewels of Scotland, the famous 15th-century gun Mons Meg, the National War Museum of Scotland and the Stone of Destiny. Take a guided tour or pick up an audio guide that narrates a tour in eight different languages.
