Milwaukee climate

Milwaukee has a humid continental climate. Summers are warm and pleasant, though thunderstorms can be frequent. Winters are quite cold, and snow is common and plentiful throughout the season. Due to its proximity to Lake Michigan, Milwaukee experiences "lake-effect" conditions. In the summer, areas along the lakeshore are often comparatively cooler than inland, and in the winter, they are slightly warmer. Tornado season is from March to June, and the wettest month of the year is August

Getting around Milwaukee

Driving is an easy way to get around Miami, but you’ll have plenty of options. You can find desks for rental car companies like Alamo, Avis, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise and Hertz at Miami Airport. You can also take the Miami Metrorail from Dadeland to Palmetto for just a few dollars. The Metrobus covers the whole county for similarly priced fares. If you need to change buses, make sure you ask for a transfer when you buy your ticket. You can also take the Metromover, a free automated people mover that runs downtown. It’s a great way to see Miami’s most popular tourist and shopping areas.

  • Sports fan will welcome a day trip to Lambeau Field, home of the Green Bay Packers, and one of the favorite football stadiums in the US. If you're lucky enough to get tickets to a Packers game, dress warm and prepare for the cold. It gets cold here during the winter season, but die-hard football fans don't let a little cold air and snow get in the way of football.
  • Get in the car and head to the Wisconsin Dells, the "Waterpark Capital of the World". Located about two hours from Milwaukee, the Dells has more than 21 indoor and outdoor waterparks as well as various recreational activities, including water skiing, jet boating, golfing and camping. After a long day at the parks, head to one of the Dells' spas, museums, or just enjoy some leisure time shopping or dining at one of the many restaurants.
  • Summerfest is an 11-day tribute to all musical genres and has been confirmed by the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest music festival in the world. The music festival takes place on Lake Michigan and goes from noon to midnight each day.
