Norway has remained outside the eurozone. The official currency is the Norwegian krone, which is broken down into 100 ore. Credit cards are widely accepted. You can exchange cash and traveller’s cheques at banks and post offices. There are ATMs in all the cities and towns.

Most hotels and restaurants add a 10 to 15 per cent service charge to the bill. A tip is only offered if service is exceptional - between 5 and 10 per cent of the bill.
