The 19th-century Parliament Building stands just outside Quebec’s old city walls. It was designed by architect Eugene Etienne Tach, who was inspired by the Louvre in Paris. The buildings are in use by the National Assembly, but visitors can take guided tours in either English or French to learn about the building’s history and the function of the Quebec National Assembly.
Address: 1045 Parlementaires Road. The visitor’s entrance is located on the corner of Grande-Alle and Honor-Mercier Avenue, at door 3. Telephone: (418) 643 7239. Website: www.assnat.qc.ca. Hours of operation: From September to 23 June, open weekdays 9am– 4:30pm. From 24 June to Labor Day it also opens weekends 10am – 4:30pm. Admission: Free.
