Museu de Arte
The renowned museum hosts perhaps the most impressive collection of Western art in Latin America. It also boasts an impressive assemblage of Brazilian art, prints and drawings, as well as one of the largest art libraries in the country.

Mercado Municipal
This imposing neo-Gothic style hall, dating from 1933, is home to the city’s largest market, which sells local fruits, vegetables, cheeses, meats – including such local delicacies as ostrich and alligator – and other produce. The hall is noted for its gigantic stained-glass windows that depict life on Brazilian coffee plantations as well as other agricultural scenes.
