The US is a tipping culture. Taxi drivers, hairdressers, bartenders and waiters expect at least a 15 per cent tip. You don’t need to tip in self-serve or fast-food restaurants. Use common sense and take basic safety measures to prevent street and car crime in cities. The southeastern portion of the country gets hit with hurricanes between June and November.

There are no major health risks associated with travel in the US. Medical care is very good, but very expensive. Make sure you have health coverage in your travel insurance policy.
