Getting from the Airport to the City
Visitors who take flights to Asmara International Airport (ASM) will find the city centre located just 3.7 miles (6 km) away. There are regular buses from the airport to the centre: the journey takes half an hour. These buses leave every 30 minutes between early morning and late evening each day, and the fare is very reasonable. The other main option is to take a private taxi from those waiting outside the airport. A taxi will cost roughly ten times as much as the bus, but which will get you right to the door of your hotel within the town centre in just 20 minutes.
