British Airways has been named Best European Airline by the readers of Business Traveller Asia Pacific magazine in its Annual Travel Awards 2007.

Readers were swayed by the British flag-carrier’s commitment to high levels of customer service.

A BA spokesman commented: “We are thrilled that the readers of Business Traveller Asia Pacific magazine have, for the sixth consecutive year, voted for British Airways.”

He noted that the airline is currently in the process of renovating its Club World (business class) cabin, which is due to get 25 per cent wider seating, Elemis spa products and a new kitchen.

“We are confident that customers will continue to enjoy the improvements we strive to make,” he said.

Meanwhile, Dubai-based airline Emirates was named the Best Middle Eastern/African Airline by the magazine’s readers.

It has also been making improvements to its cabin, including a better version of its first class seats, lie-flat massage seats in business class, and seats with more legroom in economy.

The Business Traveller Asia Pacific awards took place in Hong Kong.
