Don’t hang around, this lightning-fast sale from Flight Centre is featuring flights to Brisbane from £1 plus taxes and charges. With the add-ons, the price is still a jawdroppingly-low £399 return, hundreds of pounds cheaper than average this year.
Flight Centre has 200 seats available – 100 today (Wednesday, 11 May) and 100 tomorrow (Thursday, 12 May). Go online at 10am, when tomorrow’s batch of low-fare seats will be released. Flights must be booked by 8pm on 12 May.
Depart before 22 June. The minimum stay is 21 days and the maximum stay is three months.

Some Cheapflights info about Brisbane – It’s the capital of Queensland, and Australia’s fastest-growing city. Often called Brisvegas, it’s renowned for its glitz, glamour and confidence. It’s got the Aussie laidback vibe too, of course. There’s plenty to see and do: South Bank is a 17-hectare patch of parks, barbecue areas, arts exhibitions and craft markets. There’s an Arbour with a ferris wheel (the Wheel of Brisbane) which reaches 60 metres and is open until 11pm at the weekend.
Other spots on the must-see list for adventurous travellers are Kangaroo Point, where you can abseil, Story Bridge, which you can climb, Mt Coot-Tha Lookout for fantastic views of the city and out to Moreton Bay, and Brisbane Cricket Ground, which is better known to cricket fans as the Gabba.
The climate is subtropical. Summer temps average about 30 degrees Celsius, winter temps – June is a winter month – are only about ten degrees cooler than that.
