The half-term holidays are not far away, and many British families will be opting for a trip abroad to make the most of the kids’ time off.

And there are plenty of travel options available. Snow in Europe and North America means that skiing is still very much possible, and cheap package deals make a holiday affordable.

But for those families who prefer to stay somewhere a little more private, rather than in a hotel or resort, there a range of holiday homes available with Homeaway.co.uk.

Homeaway.co.uk offers holiday homes of all shapes and sizes in Europe, Ireland, Asia, the USA and even here in England.

One of the cheaper villas offered by the holiday rental company is the La Rousselie in Dordogne, France. This villa has all kinds of facilities to keep children of all ages happy, as well as their parents.

Facilities include a large private terrace and heated pool, a hot tub on the villa deck, en-suite bedrooms, fully equipped kitchen, and large open plan living area.

For entertainment you will find a games room complete with table tennis, table football, electronic darts, and various board games; while in the garden there is a 12-hole mini golf course with full set of clubs, full size croquet pitch and swings for the kids.

The La Rouselie has four bedrooms, and can sleep up to 11 people. Prices for this villa start at £800 for a seven night stay.

For a more exotic trip away this half term, the Villa Tortuga in Bodrum, Turkey, is available. This secluded villa is situated in two acres of land, and comes with beach volleyball, badminton and basketball.

There is also the private pool to relax in, which has in-pool seating and a poolside pergola to escape the mid day sun.

The Villa Tortuga has five bedrooms and can sleep up to 11. Prices for this villa start at £1,600 for a week’s stay. All villas can be booked through Homeaway.co.uk.
