Brits are reluctant to be parted from their gadgets at the best of times, and recent research has revealed that this is particularly true when it comes to taking their annual holidays.

Triposo’s announcement of a Version 2.0 of their free mobile app comes at a time when 92 per cent of the so-called “Generation i” admit that they will be bringing their mobile phone on their breaks, while 45 per cent will have their iPad in tow.

The new iPad app, from intelligent mobile travel guide Triposo, includes an entirely new iPad interface that turns the tablet into a personal travel magazine packed with useful information, features and full-colour photos.

The app also helps travellers to find their way in their destination of choice, offering sightseeing suggestions by day and pointing out where travellers can enjoy a few culinary delights or a local tipple by night.

It also takes weather conditions into account, ensuring that holidaymakers can make the most of their visit come rain or shine.

“People use their iPad in their hotel room to be inspired for the next day, while they use their smartphone to be inspired while they walk the streets,” said Douwe Osinga, co-founder of Triposo.

“With our new Version 2.0 apps we try to match that behaviour exactly. The iPad is ideal for making up your mind about what to do—and the iPhone and Android apps are there to accompany you, or to help you change your mind, as you wander.”

A new Travel Log Feature also allows travellers to keep track of their holiday experiences on the go, adding pictures or taking note of the places they have visited with a single tap.

The free app is available for iPads, iPhones and Android devices and can be downloaded from Triposo.com, the Apple App Store or the Android Play Store.
