The ITV show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here may be over, but backpackers can now experience the celebrity jungle for themselves.

A competition is being run by Gold Coast Tourism offering holidaymakers the chance to win a trip to the sub-tropical rainforest where the show is filmed.

The “I’m a Backpacker… Get Me In Here” competition, run by Gold Coast Tourism in conjunction with Gapyear.com and Qantas, will give six backpackers the chance to experience what it’s like to be on I’m a Celebrity.

The six winners will fly from the UK with Qantas Airlines, and once they reach Australia they will stay at the Palazzo Versace hotel, where the ITV contestants stay before and after their jungle experience.

The winners will also be able to explore the surfing beaches of Australia’s Gold Coast. But in true I’m a Celebrity style, it won’t be all plain sailing.

The six competition winners will have to take part in a series of bush tucker trials. It sounds ominous, but the winner of these trials will be crowned Backpacker King or Queen of the Jungle – walking away with a mystery prize.

To enter the competition, celebrity wannabees must create a minute-long video explaining why they should follow in the footsteps of King of the Jungle Dougie Poynter.

Once entrants have created a video, all they need to do is email it to competitions@gapyear.com and then see their video appear on Gapyear.com’s YouTube channel.

The winning videos will be the ones with the most “likes” on YouTube, and the six most popular will be flown out to the celebrity jungle.

Entry into the competition is free, but entrants must be a member of Gapyear.com before they email a video, and must be free to travel during June this year.
