The world’s globetrotters have been revealed as an army of “Beliebers”, choosing teen heart-throb and pop sensation Justin Bieber as their ideal long-haul flight companion. (Featured image by ElHormiguero)

Justin’s 2013 tour has taken him to destinations far and wide, from Finland’s über-cool capital Helsinki to the sweltering temperatures and beaches of Tampa in Florida.

So the pint-sized Canadian singer would surely be able to impart some much-needed travel tips, as well acting as eye candy on our six-hour plus flights.

Just make sure Justin knows what time the flight leaves – he seems to be developing a habit of wild partying and turning up late for important appointments, such as his own concert.

The results from the poll, conducted by global travel community Gogobot, placed a further three chart-topping singers in the top five most popular long-haul travel companions.

Singer and American Idol judge Nicki Minaj claiming second place, followed by Lady Gaga and One Direction’s “man about town” Harry Styles.

The last spot in the top five was claimed by Justin Bieber’s ex Selena Gomez, proving that the pair are still a power couple, even they are no longer together.

“When it comes to a long-haul flight, most travellers would rather sit beside a pop star than a politician. This could be because the average pop star talks less than a politician,” said Kelly Lees, General Manager of Gogobot Europe.

“Having a comfortable and convenient flight is a very important factor for the vast majority of holidaymakers.”

The remaining spots in the top ten proved to be an eclectic mix of politicians, singers and actors.

Barack Obama found his way into sixth place in the ranking, though the chances of seeing the US President on a commercial flight are probably minimal.

The leader of the free world was followed by singer Demi Lovato, national treasure Stephen Fry, girlband Little Mix and US pop star Miley Cyrus.
