There are three kinds of skiers in this world. What? That’s a massive over generalisation? No chance.

For starters, you have the Red Bull-swigging, Duracell-bunny imitating, après-ski party animal who likes nothing more than working off the day’s exertions with a heady mix of sundowners and dance floor shapes (and other, erm, evening entertainments).

Then there’s the heroic skiing parent who, after a morning and afternoon spent snowploughing or parallel turning their way down the slopes, must dig deep for the kind of energy reserves that only a mum or dad knows in order to fulfil their child-rearing duties.

Finally, there’s the cosmopolitan skier. The one whose own brand of hedonism sees them tame a black run before sliding into a comfy chair beside the fire, vintage red in hand.

It seems that quite a few of The Alpine Club’s guests fall into the last category. In response to customer feedback, the boutique chalet company has earmarked a number of adult-only weeks in 2013.

We suspect quite a few cosmopolitan skiers out there will find the idea of fine dining and like-minded company pretty attractive.

The Alpine Club’s chalets are situated in the “chocolate box resort” (pretty, charming and traditional looking) of St Martin de Belleville, offering direct and easy access to the 600km of piste within the Three Valleys network.
