Travellers will be able to fly between Aberdeen and Turkey from June 4 when Scottravel starts a new service.

The holiday company has announced the launch of a twice-weekly service (on Mondays and Tuesdays) between Aberdeen and the resort of Dalaman.

Scottravel offers package holidays to a number of Turkish resorts.

Aberdeen Airport saw passengers numbers increase by 10 per cent last year, the largest increase at any of the airports owned by BAA in the UK. It expects to handle a predicted four million passengers by 2015.
