If you are bored of going on a summer holiday that just involves beaches, bars and bad hangovers and are craving something a little bit different this year, US based news agency The Media Line is offering a one-off travel tour of Israel and Palestine this August.

Hosted by news journalist Marvin Kalb, the five star 12-day tour will visit Tel Aviv, Ramallah, Jerusalem and the Galilee, offering a unique insight into what it is like to be a reporter in the region.

“This tour provides an unusual opportunity to learn about one of the world’s most widely reported conflicts from the ground up,” said Felice Friedson, The Media Line’s President and CEO.

“We’ve planned 12 amazing days of eye-opening travels into history past and present – aided by the unparalleled personal insights of Marvin Kalb , the journalist’s journalist, and a virtual ‘Who’s Who’ of both those who cover the region as well as those who are the newsmakers.”

The tour has a number of unique features that includes a helicopter flight above the Israeli-Palestinian border and a Town Hall meeting with Palestinian and Israeli participants. There will also be the opportunity to meet with senior officials from both Israel and Palestine, as well as the option of touring Eilat and Petra.

Those interested in going on the trip get to stay in five star accommodation that includes the David Citadel Jerusalem and the Movenpick Ramallah.

The tour departs on 31 August and returns on 11 September and includes overnights in Tel Aviv, the Galilee, Ramallah and Jerusalem.
