If you fancy yourself a Richard Branson-type and want to start your own airline, aircraft manufacturer Boeing has launched a new section on its website offering some helpful tips.

StartupBoeing provides information on getting your airline off the ground and tips on beating the many challenges you could face.

From deciding which aircraft to buy to the correct ways for training staff, there is a wide variety of advice available. The useful information available to download includes business plans or the price of jets.

If you wanted to buy a brand new Boeing 747, for example, you would need around $216 million in your pocket. If that seems like too much, you could always lease a jet – helpfully, Boeing provide information on this as well.

Even if you’re not ready just yet to take to the skies with your own airline, the information provided by Boeing offers an insight into the complex business of operating aircraft.
