Some of them work very hard indeed, especially if they’re an Olympic athlete with their own hit TV show.

Diver Tom Daley has barely had time to put his clothes on since winning a bronze medal at last year’s Olympics, leading Brits to vote him the hardest-working celeb in need of a holiday.

Tom’s celebrity-based diving show Splash! was a surprise hit earlier this year, and he is still training hard to keep on top of his game.

So, it’s little wonder that 49 per cent of respondents in a poll by sunshine.co.uk said that the diving hunk deserves a few days off.

“Whilst many people think celebrities live a life of luxury and are in a permanent state of relaxation, we’ve no doubt that it’s all go, go, go for many of them, thanks to interviews, tours, photo shoots and public appearances,” said Chris Clarkson, co-founder of sunshine.co.uk.

The findings of the poll come as sunshine.co.uk launches its random excuse generator on weekoffwork.co.uk, which generates excuses that employees can use to get time off work.

“Now that we’ve launched weekoffwork.co.uk, as a bit of fun to help people come up with excuses to use on their boss, we wanted to see which celebrities people thought were the most hardworking,” added Mr Clarkson.

“Perhaps Tom Daley should hit ‘generate excuse’ on the site and give his management a call, before jetting off to get a bit of sun!”

Other celebs in need of a holiday, according to the poll, include British Prime Minister David Cameron and hard-working mum-of-four Victoria Beckham.

X Factor reject Rylan Clarke was a surprise entry in second place. But those hoping he gets some time off need not worry, we’re sure the work will dry up soon enough.
