Posh camping, or glamping, is all the rage for an entire generation of travellers who aren’t willing to forgo creature comforts when presented with an opportunity to bond with nature.

Glampers who want to take their luxury camping experience up another notch are likely to enjoy a stay in the range of hand crafted, Romany-style caravans on offer at the Roulotte Retreat, available through One Off Places.

Set in a landscaped meadow in the Scottish borders, holidaymakers can recharge their batteries by taking in the area’s breathtaking views, without having to sacrifice too much of the daily comforts they enjoy.

Each roulotte is kitted out with decadent features including a range of colourful furnishings and fabrics, chaise longues, silk curtains and velvet throws.

Housing two people each, the roulottes are ideal for a romantic break, giving couples the chance to truly get away from it all. The roulottes come with a variety of mod-cons, including a toilet and shower room, bedroom and cooking area.

Tabitha Symonds, co-founder and director of oneoffplaces.co.uk, said: “If you want to escape the humdrum of your day-to-day life, reconnect with nature, and experience something truly authentic and rejuvenating, then this is the place.”

The retreat is nestled beneath trees on a small private estate near the legendary Eildon Hills in the Scottish Borders.

Visitors can make the most of the stay by taking a walk in the area’s extensive countryside, starting at the nearby St. Cuthbert’s Way long-distance footpath, and going on to explore woodlands, streams, waterfalls and hills.

A stay at the Roulotte retreat starts from £95 per night, and visitors must pay for a minimum of two nights. You can book through oneoffplaces.co.uk.

One Off Places also offers a number of other unique properties, including a truck conversion in Scotland, a colonial villa in Sri Lanka; a merchant`s house in Morocco; a tree house in Somerset; windmills, eco houses, tents, tipis and yurts.
